Return to Nature with Dusky Leaf Yoga

The problem facing humanity is everywhere evident. As a species, we have become disconnected from our natural origins such that we hardly know what it means to live with nature.

How do we return to nature? It is a challenging question — one easily stated but answered with great difficulty.

Yoga will not solve all the world's problems, but we think it's a good place to start. Through regular practice, yoga helps each one of us become better grounded and more aware of the inner self.

For us to return to nature in the external sense, we must first change how we relate to ourselves internally. This discovery of our inner nature is what motivates us in our daily practice.

We have vowed to never lose our way on this path toward nature. We will direct all our energies toward achieving the return we seek — first by exploring and uncovering our inner nature and then by rejoining nature in the external world. To help us concentrate on this mission, we have chosen the Dusky Leaf monkey as our representative.

A tropical species native to India, Bangladesh and Southeast Asia, the Dusky Leaf monkey gets its name from the "dusky" rings around its eyes and from its herbivorous diet, which consists mainly of tree leaves. As a species, the Dusky Leaf monkey is social, peaceful and playful — qualities that inspire us in our yoga practice.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and our Dusky Leaf monkey. We invite you to join us in our mission of inspiring change through the practice of yoga.

With enough practice, we will — eventually — return to nature.
